Pre EPL 21 Jan 08 : LIVERPOOL VS ASTON VILLA

Liverpool entertain Martin O'Neill's in-form Aston Villa determined to shrug off their tag as this season's draw specialists.

The Reds have drawn more matches than any other club in the league, with nine in total, and their inability to turn one point into three has been the key factor in their struggle to keep pace with the league leaders.

Rafael Benitez's men have not won a league match since beating Derby County on Boxing Day, and their run of three straight draws is in great contrast to Villa's form.

The Villains have won their last three and boast an away record of four wins, five draws and one defeat - one that mirrors Liverpool's at Anfield.

In Gabrial Agbonlahor and Ashley Young the West Midlands outfit have two of the brightest young talents in the country and they have been a major threat on the road, most notably impressing in the 4-4 draw at Chelsea and the 4-0 win at Blackburn.

A victory over O'Neill's side would go a long way to improving the mood on Merseyside and a repeat of one of the best performances of last season, when the Reds thumped Villa 3-1, would be the perfect way to bring their sequence of draws to an end.
